Kruger launched one of North America’s largest coated paper machines in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. Kruger is a global producer of newsprint, fine paper, tissue and wood pulp. A search of a logistic solution provider to manage its feedstock for two mills that produce in excess of one million tons annually led them to PiVAL. A combination of several key factors made PiVAL the obvious choice: a highly skilled workforce, development and installation of an inventory replenishment system and a dedicated fleet of specialized trucks.
PiVAL was successful in convincing community leaders and the Port of Trois-Rivieres to revitalize an underutilized building located on the St. Lawrence River. The local railroad reactivated the rail line serving the site. The necessary resources and investments were mobilized to develop a climate-controlled building with multi-modal access. PiVAL, working in partnership with Kruger’s Logistics & Procurement teams signed a long-term deal that will ensure that Kruger’s presses never stop running.
